A little background on how we arrived on the Rooted Experience as a cornerstone of our discipleship plan:
New Harvest's Leadership was tasked with evaluating our discipleship pathway and asking ourselves two questions: What is our plan for making disciples? Does our plan work?" We found that we didn't have a single definition of what a disciple is, much less a well-defined plan to make disciples. Unfortunately, we are not alone. After prayer, coaching, and many conversations, we decided a disciple is someone who learns from, listens to, and lives like Jesus. We believe we have found a proven model for discipleship, an entry point on our pathway, that will firmly put down deep roots, place us on a path of growth, and produce fruitful and flourishing lives. It's called the Rooted Experience.
